The Four Js on Lightning Cove

WHERE IS JO?

Do you remember me still, guys? It's me,Jade! I am going to tell you about the 4J's' second adventure.

"Wow!The lightning is marvellous!",said Jack.

"And just listen to that thunder!Honestly,I think the gods are angry!",said John.

"How do you make that out?,I asked in wonder.

"Because if they weren't,they woudn't be stamping the floors of heaven like this!",laughed John.

"Oh!",I said."You'll always be an idiot!Isn't that right Jo? Jo?"

A silence fell.Where was Jo?She had been with them till then,with a young boy named Scotty.Then he had to go and Jo went to wave him off.Surely it couldn't take so much time to come back?

"Auntie Bess!Do you know where Jo is?",asked John,to Jo's mother.

"No,John dear!",she called back."Why,is she gone?

"Well , she is certainly not here", I said.

"Oh no!",Jo's mother exclaimed."Could you look about, for her?I am so busy."

"Don't worry, Auntie Bess",I said gently."We will find her.

We looked about , but there was no Jo. Then,through the cat door,running,came Jerry!

"Jerry!Old boy,where is your mistress , Jo!",Jack asked anxiously.

"Woof Woof!",as if to say"Come on! I will show you!"

We all put on our raincoats and mackintoshes.We pulled on our gumboots and put on warm coats.We even took our small umbrellas .We took one of Jo's favourite caps and gave it to Jerry.

"Find,Jerry!Lead us to Jo.",said John.

Jerry sniffed at the cap and began to walk slowly,for he knew that we wouldn't be able to keep up with him. He began to walk due east.Then he came to a place.

"Lightning Cove!",shuddered Jack."Why would Jo come here?"

We followed Jerry,anyhow.He kept walking until we came to one of the worst places of Lightning Cove.It was a place filled with sharp rocks.Anybody who came there always
had hundreds of bruises or fractures.

As we cautiously walked down,we heard a faint voice.

"Help!Somebody please help!!"

FINDING JO

"Heard that!It is somebody calling for help!Lets go and help him.",I said.

We walked down the sharp rocks.Cautious as we were,we did get a few bruises here and there.But they didn't pain much.

Gradually as we went further,the call became louder,and we saw the victim.It was Jo!

"It's Jo!",I shuddered,blinking away tears,for I was so shocked to see her situation.She had a big bruise on both of her legs,and her arm was badly hurt.Her face also had bruises,and altogether she was covered in blood.

"Lets go to her quickly!She needs us now.",said John.

We went further.Soon we could see Jo quite clearly,and we were so shocked.

"Jo!",I said to her gently,as I did not want to jar her aching head."What are you doing here?"

"No time to ask her that now.",said Jack."Come on!I think we can take her home between us."

We were able to cross that place but that was all.Jo kept on slipping as she was half unconcious,giving us frights.Finally we were too tired and I took Jo to a warm place beneath a few bushes.There was a lot of heather there.John and Jack soon  made it into a little bed.There was a little stream nearby,for this was the only place in Lightning Cove which was good enough to stay in.We got a little water and gave it to Jo.The boys also took some more water and washed away all the blood from her bruises and made leaf bandages.I said I would take care of Jo,while the boys went to get a few fruits and nuts and firewood out of which we could make some broth and drink,for we were all tired.

"We had better take Jo to a little cave me and John saw while coming back,"said Jack,as he and John kept down the things.

"Should we tell Auntie Bess?",I asked.

"No.",said John."It would worry her so much.By tomorrow I presume Jo will be a bit better and can walk back home.Then we can also know her story."

I nodded and began to collect the heather bed and the fruits , nuts and firewood in my hands to go the cave.Between them the boys walked Jo.We came to the cave.It even had a door.I quickly arranged the heather bed and the boys lay Jo down.They began to make a little fire and I began to make the broth.

After I finished,the boys had also roughly made a few wooden bowls and spoons.I gently awoke Jo.She woke up.

"Jo?We are not asking anything",I said."You must be hungry.I have made some broth.Just come and eat it."

"Thanks,Jade.",she said in a faint voice."I am very hungry.

The broth was delicious.There were also a few nuts here and there and the fruits which were blended into the broth were also delicious.

After we finished eating,Jo went to the heather bed and lay down.She fell asleep.

"We had better make  a few beds for ourselves too,right?",said John."Jade , be a dear and go get some heather.It is just outside."

I went and got the heather.We made some beds.Then we went to sleep,snuggling down into the heather.

At the first stroke of sunlight the next day I woke up.I opened the door of the cave.I went and got some fruits and nuts. I made the same broth which I had made yesterday,and also some delicious salad into which I put a piece of blended fruit at the corners.

Nobody woke up.So I went out into the woods and found some sturdy pieces of wood and put my woodwork lessons to use.

I made a little wheelchair!It was roughly made,but it was good and sturdy.I knew that Jo wouldn't be able to walk in her state.

As I had already had breakfast I figured that the others would know I went somewhere,and eat by themselves.So I thought I would paint the wheelchair with the juice from the fruits!So I did.It looked beautiful when I finished.

"Auntie Bess won't have to buy a wheelchair for Jo now",I said to myself.

I wheeled the chair to the cave.The others were up,eating breakfast,and they were so astonished to see the wheelchair."Jade!",exclaimed Jo."It is so beautiful!Many,many thanks!"

"Oh thats nothing,"I said,my face flushed."I'm happy to know that I could do something for you."

"Ok now",said John."I called Auntie Bess now and told her the latest news.She says she told us to come quickly.So lets move."

And we did.We collected our things and took turns at wheeling Jo.She was feeling a bit better now but couldn't walk and her bruises were still painful.We finally reached home and Auntie Bess was glad to see us.

"Hie Auntie Bess!We're home,and here is poor Jo!"

JO'S STORY-BACK TO LIGHTNING COVE

"Ok now Jo,",said Jack,after they had settled down."We need your story.Why did you go to Lightning Cove?"

Jo took a deep breath and said"You all know that I went to wave off Scotty.After that,I saw a curious light.I followed it.It took me straight towards Lightning Cove.Nevertheless,I was stupid enough to follow that stupid light.Then some people caught me and tied me to a tree.But then there was this guy who was really cruel and threw me in the sharp rock place from the top.Then I sent Jerry for you guys.I was so stupid.But I do think that those men had something to do with the four robberies which occurred this month!Maybe it is a mystery for the 4J's!

"Oh don't be so excited,",said Auntie Bess."You worried me to death when John gave me the news!"

Jo said"I am a bit better right now.But I do want to catch those guys.It will be like the 4J's saved the day again!"

"Hey!I have an idea!Why not go back to Lightning Cove,and catch those goons!",I said.

"That is a brilliant idea!",said John,Jack and Jo together.

But would Auntie Bess allow us to go?That was a problem.Auntie Bess had already been worried by John's tales and had almost forbidden us ever to go out alone again.Blow!

But suprisingly Auntie Bess said yes!It was a huge victory.We packed all our things and set off towards Lightning Cove on our bikes.Jo had just learnt how to manouvre her wheelchair most skilfully,and came as fast as us.She had been to the doctor,and the doctor said no fractures had been done,but she couldn't go on a bike just yet.Whenever I saw Jo's wheelchair I felt extremely proud.

We came to the little cave we came to last time.Our heather beds were still there,and was plenty of firewood.We made it better!John and Jack fixed up eight bulb lights on the top of the cave with a string.Jo and I made to little shelves and went and got tons of fruits and berries and and nuts and we also found a vegetable garden!

Quickly we took the wanted vegetables.When we went back to the cave our shelves were quite full!

Jack said"Lets go out.Its too boring.

We went out and had a glorious time . When we cme back we made ourselve some salad and went to bed . We were all tired out.



JO BEGINS TO BE VERY SURPRISING.

Suddenly something happened to Jo. She began to get peculiar aches. She suggested that she stayed at home and took care of Jerry when we wanted to go swim or play. It was very surprising.

(Very short chapter but there is more to come!)

CONFRONTING JO

"It's all very surprising , Jo,said John when we confronted her. "Why do you have aches? Why do you don't want to swim or play? What's up , old girl?"

"Nothing , " said Jo. "I just don't feel like swimming or playing any more and I don't know what you're talking about aches.

'Oh please , Jo, I said. "We're not buying it. Just tell us the truth because we really care about you. We want you to get better , Jo. So please tell the truth!!

"If there is not a truth a to tell, what shall I tell?", asked Jo.

Jack said ' Really ? So you're not going to tell us the truth . Well , I can't believe you Jo. You've sorely given us a lie and you think that you're fooling us. We don't care tuppence about your lies but we do care about you. Please Jo!! We're begging you. You know what you think? You think you fool us all the times . Let me tell you I know that somethings up with you since the day of your accident. We want to know if there is any connection. We can get you better , Jo! We care. So tell us."

John said " Jack is absoluetly right. Remember the night of your accident? We brought you back to the cave. We fed you. We made a bed for you first and then made one for ourselves. We made sure you were you were comfortable. Think about it.

Jo said" You'll all be angry with me . I know you will. I can't bring myself to tell the truth because I'm afraid of the result it will bring."

I said " Jo , whatever happens the decider of your fate is you. If we don't know the truth we won't have an idea about how to judge you. But if you do tell us the truth , we can decide your fate . But if you ever wantto change it you can change your fate. Haven't you heard the saying , "You can't change your life. But you can change your habits . And surely your habits will change the future.

Jo took a deep breath and said " I'm in league with those bad guys!!!"

JO'S SECRET

Jo burst into tears. We lookd at each other , not having a clue about what Jo was talking about. I told her , "Jo , to be perfectly clear we don't have a clue about what you're talking about!!"

Jo said , "Before my accident I met three bad guys named Larry , Charlie and Slacker. They asked me a few questions by tightening me to a corner. After I answered thm they said I had made a terrible mistake by coming up there. I already knew that . Then the head named Zeb came and when he heard their reports , he threw me on that mountain. When we came back here and they saw me when we were hunting for that lost ball , they threatened to kill me if I spread the word. They often hit me with a stone. That explains the aches. I couldn't come for swimming or playing bcause I was meeting them at those times. Is it clear?

A MISERABLE NIGHT

We felt annoyed at our hunger and had to go eat when we wanted to ask more. I made salad and fried bread and broth.

None of us said anything to one another. We all felt unhappy . Jo looked miserable. We were angry with her for betraying us for so long. It was a miserable night. I shut the door of the cave and we changed. We got into our beds and blew out the light.

None of us could sleep , thinking about the happenings. We tried to and we fell asleep after many many hours.

The next day I got up to make breakfast when I saw Jo going somewhere. I followed her.

She went toward a shack and knocked the door . They let her in.

THE FOUR J'S ON LIGHTINING COVE

BRAVO , JO!

I looked through the window and saw four men and thought they must be Zeb , Larry , Charlie and Slacker.

Zeb spoke " Why have you come today when we didn't send for you?

Jo replied" I have come because I want to quit!!

The four men gasped.

"What? " , spoke Larry in a sick voice. " What did you say?"

"I said I'm not interested anymore . I told my cousins about you. I'll put it in the newspaper and you'll be jailed!!

The four men  attacked Jo. She looked for a weapon. I enterd through the window and threw her a chain just in time . I took one myself and attacked Charlie and Larry. They attacked back.

The sounds woke up John and Jack and they woke up and followed the sounds , I guess because the very next moment they were there! They took ropes and tied the four men , for we had knocked them out cold.

Quickly we telephoned the police , and the came and captured the four men who were wanted for many months . We got a reward of twenty dirhams each!

It was just the beginning of spring and lightning cove stopped all it's wild mists and scary sounds , but instead began to grow beautiful flowers and sweet birds drank sweet songs. So we spent some more days there and we went back home.

ALL'S WELL IS WELL AGAIN!

We had a glorious time at lightining cove and when we came back we were rewarded with most wonderful gifts and presents for our bravery and the police took us to an aqua park!

With this wonderful adventure , we decided to mke this a book and call it " The four J's on lightning cove. "

4J Adventure (Final Part)

We raced home and got our money.We met at the park at 8:30 and walked to the circus.It was not far off.We reached before the show started.

"What if our guess is not right?It would be a waste of money."Jo said.

"No negative thoughts.We just have to look carefully when the dogs come.",replied John.

And the show started.It started with the acrobats.We marvelled at the way they jumped and did not lose their balance effortlessley.Then there were the clowns.They were so funny we forgot why we were there.And then the dogs!

"Keep both eyes open.Be alert.Look for Jerry.",John said.

We were sure of our guess.We looked very close.Jerry was a spotted dalmatian,and there was not even one dalmatian dog.We were very upset.After it was over,we gathered together.

"Jerry was not there!",said Jo,trying her best not to cry.

"Oh  Jo,I am so sorry.",said Jack.

"Don't lose hope , Jo. The thief could have dyed him in some colour.",I said.

"Exactly.The colours were black,white and brown.The thief could have easily dyed him in some colour.",said John.

"Then come on!We need to go to the dye room where the dyes are kept.",said Jack.

"Why?",asked Jo with curiosity.

"Because dye only lasts two hours!The circus was for two hours . He'll definitely come back to give him another coating.",said Jack.

"THEN TO THE DYE ROOM!!"we shouted and rushed to it.

We rushed behind the dye tent and looked through some net.It was getting time for the second show.Just then a man came carrying a  half brown dog.He dyed the dog in black and left the tent.Now-How could we be sure that the dog was Jerry?

"I'm sure it was!Of course he could have dyed him in brown and now he wants to dye him in black!",exclaimed Jo.

"Don't jump to conclusions, Jo.Lets get some proof.",I said , though I coudn't help feeling wrong.Jo was right!It must have been Jerry!

"No, Jade. Jo is right.It must have been Jerry.He was half brown and little white.I saw that",said Jack.

"And also that he looked like a ruffian!He'd make a perfect thief!",said John.

"Ok,it is Jerry.You all are right.Lets go and get that wicked man!!",I said with anger.

"After the second show.We can't go now.",said Jo.

"Ok then,"I said.We'll go to the circus tent and watch the rest of the show.",said Jack.

We watched the rest of the show and went to the dog trainers' tent.We at once recognised the man and caught hold of him and dragged him.He began to shout.

"Hey , what is all this nonsense?',he asked confused.

"Come along!We know you took our dog!Stop wiggling and come!",screamed Jo.

"Yeah,we'll report you to the police.Just stop wiggling!",shouted John.

When we got to the police station we screamed.

"Constable!There is a thief from the new circus in town!",I said.

"What!",he asked and came to us.He looked confused.

"But I know him quite well.He is a dog trainer in Gallanio's circus.His name is Mr Kenyon and he also sells buns at the Pierre.Didn't you know?"

Now it was our turn to be confused. Mr kenyon?Buns at the Pierre?It all just didn't make sense.

Then Jo told the constable the whole story.The constable laughed so much he couldn't sit in his chair.He got up and wiped the tears from his eyes.Even Mr Kenyon was laughing.

"We're really sorry we blamed you.",we all said.

"That's okay!You have given me a good laugh!I have never laughed like this before.Come to the circus without paying if you want!Or come to the Pierre and have some of my caramel buns!",he said,laughing.

"Thank you for forgiving us.It was really good of you.",we said and left the police station.

When we were out Jo started to cry.

"Jerry is gone forever.,she sobbed.

We tried to comfort her.We took her to her home.

Her mother opened the door and smiled at us .

"Hi all of you!Here is Jerry!",she said in her smiling voice.

"WHAT!!!!!!!"we exclaimed.Jerry...Jerry...how come  Jerry.....How was Jerry in Jo's house??

"Mum!Don't play pranks on me!I don't like it!",said Jo as she hugged Jerry.

"Pranks?What pranks?Yesterday night Jerry fell of the stairs.I took him to the vet and he stayed there for one day.Today morning he was better so I brought him back.But what are you talking about a prank?"

So thats what it was!We all heaved a sigh of relief.But,oh what a joke!

We rolled about with laughter.

"To think we thought about circuses!And dog trainers!"

"And dyes and constables!It is so funny!"

"I feel like laughing till I cry now!It is a proper wild goose chase!"

"But all's well that ends well!And I also got Jerry back!"

We had lunch at Jo's house and talked about our very first mystery.

I think it was a very successful one , don't you?

4J Adventure (Part1)

I am Jade. I belong to a club called the four J's. This is the story of my club's very first mystery.

"John !John, where are you? Come quickly!" ,screamed Jo.

Jo, or Josephine was calling to  cousin, John. John , Jo , Jack and me were the 4 J's. We were all in our own club.Jo had a dog named Jerry. We helped people who were poor by lending charity etc or solved mysteries. Till then we had only done charities, but were always looking out for mysteries.

Anyway,John came running.

"What's the matter , Jo?, he asked.

"Oh John , it's Jerry!He is gone! I have checked everywhere!", she answered.

"Where did you last see him?"

"After he had his walk yesterday night! He slept beside me and now he is gone!"

John sat down and began to think. I came running.

"What 's the matter Jo?", I asked.

"I 'll tell you.Go and get Jack. There should be a meeting of the four J's.Go quick ! Meet us at the park in ten minutes.",she said.

I sped off,wondering what the matter was. I got Jack and we took our bikes and rode to the park.We met Jo and John under the slide.

I said , "This is a an exposed area. How can we have a meeting here?"

Jo said,"Come along I will show you a place."

It was a wonderful place.So secret it was, we thought nobody would come there. It was like a cave-tent like under a  cloth canopy left by someone.It had a camouflaged door too.

 After we got in, Jo began," Alright. The reason for this meeting is real serious. It's Jerry!

"What's up with him?",asked Jack.

"Well he is missing! I checked every nook and cranny of my house.If you ask me, I say he has been dognapped!"

"Oh no!Who would want to do such a thing?",I exclaimed.

"I don't know.And that is what we have to find out.",said Jo."I told John before the meeting, because he was at my house. But we don't have a single clue where he could be!"

"Well, he is a pure bred dalmatian.If you sell him to a circus you would come home with 2000 pounds.",I said.

"So you mean to say anybody could have stolen him just for the love of money?",asked John.

I nodded.

"Maybe he could have already been sold.",said Jack.When did you find this out, Jo?"

"Today morning!After breakfast when it was time for his walk!",Jo said.

We all turned to John, who was thinking hard.Then he slapped his knee and made us all jump.

"What's up John?",asked Jack.

"Circuses!Jade said that if you sold dogs that are pure bred to circus you would have a lot of money.And there is a new circus in here!Right here in Ajman!Didn't you know?It is called Gallanio's circus and there are flyers up and down the street. If the thief works there, he would have definitley taken Jerry there and kept him for training and participating in the circus.And later he planned to sell it to the circus head,then make away with a lot of money and live a good life!",said John.

We stared at John.Yes, he was right. Circuses.Dognappers.Flyers.Training.Participating.Jerry.Everything was a piece,now John had found all the pieces.

"John,you are right!Of course they would have taken him there!We need to go straight away and check the timings.Come on!",said Jo.

After locking the door we sped out.We ran like hares and finally saw a flyer in the street.I tore it off the wall.

"Here!The timings are 8:45 to 10:45,and 11:00 to 1:00!And the prices are five dirham for children".

Yes. Things were falling into place.If only our guess was right..........'

Swimming, the Exercise I Love!

SWIMMING-THE EXERCISE I LOVE

A fine sunny day, burgers  to eat, cold ice creams to lick and especially plunging into the swimming pool! How I love that!

Swimming is my favorite exercise. I enjoy it so much its not even like I am exercising! The races,diving everything just takes me into another world.

Now,I laugh when I think of my old days,when I was small and scared stiff of swimming.I had learnt swimming at a  certain place,but even after that I was scared of swimming.I liked the water and everything,but I was not going to do a full stretch from one end of the pool to the other end.This was because I was scared I might drown in the middle. So mostly I just held the wall and came to the deep end.I never swam and came.

Now,remember how I said that I had learnt swimming at a certain place?There I had only learnt the basics.Keep that in mind . I'll come to that later.

Anyway ,as I was saying,I would not do a full stretch . Now I actually think that how I was able to live without doing that!Okay,back to the point.I don't want to rush over things.Lets take this a bit slow,shall we? Now , as I was saying,I never did much come to the deep end.My father used to threaten me that he would throw me off the deep end.I used to get scared.

Another day at the pool,I was at the deep end(after a great deal of coaxing,okay!).My father was like"You can do it Roshni,you can!",he said.I thought"Okay, let me give it a try."

I pushed my leg off the wall and began to swim.As I was swimming,I noticed that I had forgotten my fear.Amazing what a bit of swimming can do to you,I thought!I swam till the shallow end and my father shouted"Well done,Well done!"

That one stretch changed my complete thought of swimming.The new thought was completely different.It was the beggining of a whole new swimming career.It was the birth of my love of swimming.

Later , in 2012, I learnt the rest of the strokes and diving . Now I am very good at swimming and actually ask my father and sister to throw me off the deep end! 

I think,swimming is a wonderful thing to do!

SKULL IN THE WINDOW

Ok, so now I know that this is a weird title for the story, but it is true!

The other day at school,everything was going fine.It was a Thursday and everybody heaved a sigh of relief.But it was still a school day and everybody had to learn. In the sixth period it was science. We were learning about Skeletal and Nervous system. Our teacher was explaining us the skeletal system. In our school , doors have  a small glass of the sort on the top. It looks more like a window in the door.Well our teacher was telling us  about all that bones and joints etc etc and a skull came in that window!! We all screamed our heads off. Then the door opened and there stood my fourth standard science teacher who had been promoted to the fifth, carrying a figurine of a skeleton! We laughed till we cried.I guess she did it on purpose because she has a great sense of humour. It was basically for us to understand  what the skeleton looked like and to understand all the bones and joints and stuff. Keeping the skeleton on the table, she went , laughing. After that nobody could concentrate on the  lesson and my teacher started laughing and all of us burst out and roared with laughter . And my teacher shouted and  the class went back to the lesson.

A funny story, but a true one, I thought!

The pot maker's change

There was once a pot maker. He made pots in a very different way. He used to just take the wet sand and shape it and throw it into the water and take it out. And people did not like it and nobody bought pots from him because-:

1)Because his pots were not good.
2)His pots were very costly and there was no point in buying them.
3) He was very rude when questioned.

So, soon the pot maker suffered a great loss of money and became very poor. He decided to move to another town.So he caught the nearest bus to the nearest town.

In the town, hundreds of people were carrying pots and vessels and everything made very nicely. The pot maker went and bought a pot. It was shaped very nicely and looked it would never break. Then he went around town and bought many things for his settling there. When it was evening , the crowd started clearing up.He also  went back home and went to bed. He had bought the house.

"Tomorrow, I'll go and see the chief.", thought the pot maker.

The next day , the town was again crowded. The pot maker made his way to the chief's house. He talked to the chief and the chief allowed him to settle down in their town. The pot maker was very happy and went back home.

He was very happy for the first few days , but then he started worrying.

He was worrying about how he was going to make money. He had only hundred rupees left with him. He had to start making money. But then , how? These people also wouldn't buy his pots and he cannot make money. So, he went to bed and then thought about it.

In the morning he went to a pot maker's shop. He said:

"Good morning!

The pot maker replied,"Good morning!Would you like to buy some pots?

"No.

"Then may I know the reason you have come here?"

"I want to become your apprentice and learn pottery.

"Why,thank you!! Of course! But...........

"But what?

"You have to ask the chief to become my apprentice. Or else its impossible.

"I'll go right now.

At the chief's house, the chief served success. The pot maker joyfully went back to the pot maker.

"So?, asked the pot maker when he got there.

"Success was served!

"Good! Now , to begin with tell me your name.

"Ram.

"Well , Ram, you are going to learn perfect pottery, ok?

"I will follow your every order.

Ram flourished under the pot maker's teaching.He soon began his own business and flourished and his name spread worldwide.

Then, one day he went and saw the pot maker who had taught him.

"I cannot thank you enough,said Ram.

"You did it. Why thank me? I am just a pot maker till today!

"You didn't retire!!

"No I am  afraid.

"You are old and you should retire and live a happy life!

"Yes, but what can I do! I myself am  my mother, father,brother sister, grandparents etc. I lost all my people during a war.

Ram felt sorry for the pot maker. Immediatly,he spent his money and got a brand new house for the pot maker and a few maids and servants to be like his family. Then he brought the pot maker to his new home.

"Thank you so much!I cannot thank you enough!!

"You deserved it. Why thank me? After all this is what friends are for, right?

"Ha Ha Ha! Of course!

And the two lived happily ever after forever.

FAIRY LAND,THE REAL THING.

"Oh, one with lots of adventures and comedies, please. I like that sort of book."


"Here you are then,young lady!"


"Fairyland,the real thing."


"Yes. Loved the book when I was little. You must read it . It is truly a wonderful book.


So , Emily bought the book for 25 cents and went home to show the book to her mother. Her mother was pleased.


"Now instead of wasting your time,you had better read this book.


Emily started to read this book . 4 days passed .By that time she had finished the book.


"Oh mom," she said. "I do wish something like this would happen in real life !  Now I shall have nothing to do again."


"You shall,said her mother." I will send you and Frisky to have a little picnic with your dolls,toys and Jessie too. I will make you a fine picnic lunch and you can go and have your picnic inside the hedge!"                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          "Oooooooooh! I will go and tell Jessie."


So that afternoon ,Emily,Frisky ,Jessie and Emily's dolls and toys went to the  hedge. She  spread out the mat and everybody sat. 


Jessie suddenly said  " Check that out!


Everybody turned to the  place she was pointing to and they all saw a gleaming light. It was like coming from a hole.


"I think that leads to Fairyland 'said Emily. " It said so in the book I read. So Jessie , you,Frisky and I had better go and follow that light. The dolls and toys can remain here.


" That is good idea ."


So they went to follow the light and jumped into the hole. 


"Thank the gods! Solid ground!


" It was  about sixty metres high!

"Lets not waste time we need to go."


It was a bit dark. But as they went deeper into the hole,the more the light they saw.


Then they saw something like a city." Fairyland",exclaimed Emily


She took out her pocketbook and started writing .


" Hey ,what are you doing?


" I must write a story on this. It could be an adventure!


" Even though we are just halfway through it?


" Come on Jessie!


As they entered the city  they saw a gatekeeper fairy.


"Halt! Why have you humans come here?Don't you know that strangers are restricted from Fairyland? Get out at once!!"


"No!",cried Emily."We are so sorry to have entered this land. We were having a picnic and suddenly there was a light and..................


"Do go on.",exclaimed the gatekeeper fairy.


"And there was a hole and we went to it thinking somebody  must be there but the hole was sixty metres high and we were so relieved  when we got to the ground and then you caught us.",said Emily.


The gatekeeper fairy then suddenly gave a sweet smile.He said" Only humans who are very bad to the fairies here are restricted from fairyland. But you are not that sort.You are very nice.You can roam Fairyland if you like. I will open the gates now."


Emily and Jessie were very happy and gladly thanked the gatekeeper fairy. They went to the gates. They saw Fairyland! Fairyland ,the real thing!


Emily suddenly erased the title of her story and replaced with a new one.Jessie peeked over her shoulder.


"What is the new title?",she asked.


"The title of my book."Emily said.


They were happily playing in Fairyland with the other fairies after that. Then suddenly the queen of Fairyland came to the city. Everybody bowed,even the two children and Frisky.


The queen said" I have lost my gold earrings .Please find them for me if you can."


After that the queen left.


The whole city was lost in thought.


Emily and Jessie were lost in thought too and decided to help the other fairies. They all met at a fairy's house.After thinking for a long time Jessie gave up.Emily still tried.


Then Emily got it! She said" I have got it! I do not know if it will be there,but do listen!The queen's gold earrings have been lost. Then the earrings must be shining and sparkling.Who has an attraction towards that sort of things?Crows do! The earrings must be in a crow's nest."


The fairies cheered and clapped for Emily so much that she blushed and hid her face.


The fairies set to work and looked at all the crows' nest. Then , after a long search, the earrings were found! They were given back to the queen and she was very happy.


The queen said" How kind you have been to Fairyland and everyone seems to like you. So I declare that from today these two children can enter Fairyland whenever they want."


"Yayyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!"shouted the fairies.


When the children got back home,their parents hugged them and asked where they had been.They told them of their most splendid adventure.


They all went to bed.
