The pot maker's change

There was once a pot maker. He made pots in a very different way. He used to just take the wet sand and shape it and throw it into the water and take it out. And people did not like it and nobody bought pots from him because-:

1)Because his pots were not good.
2)His pots were very costly and there was no point in buying them.
3) He was very rude when questioned.

So, soon the pot maker suffered a great loss of money and became very poor. He decided to move to another town.So he caught the nearest bus to the nearest town.

In the town, hundreds of people were carrying pots and vessels and everything made very nicely. The pot maker went and bought a pot. It was shaped very nicely and looked it would never break. Then he went around town and bought many things for his settling there. When it was evening , the crowd started clearing up.He also  went back home and went to bed. He had bought the house.

"Tomorrow, I'll go and see the chief.", thought the pot maker.

The next day , the town was again crowded. The pot maker made his way to the chief's house. He talked to the chief and the chief allowed him to settle down in their town. The pot maker was very happy and went back home.

He was very happy for the first few days , but then he started worrying.

He was worrying about how he was going to make money. He had only hundred rupees left with him. He had to start making money. But then , how? These people also wouldn't buy his pots and he cannot make money. So, he went to bed and then thought about it.

In the morning he went to a pot maker's shop. He said:

"Good morning!

The pot maker replied,"Good morning!Would you like to buy some pots?

"No.

"Then may I know the reason you have come here?"

"I want to become your apprentice and learn pottery.

"Why,thank you!! Of course! But...........

"But what?

"You have to ask the chief to become my apprentice. Or else its impossible.

"I'll go right now.

At the chief's house, the chief served success. The pot maker joyfully went back to the pot maker.

"So?, asked the pot maker when he got there.

"Success was served!

"Good! Now , to begin with tell me your name.

"Ram.

"Well , Ram, you are going to learn perfect pottery, ok?

"I will follow your every order.

Ram flourished under the pot maker's teaching.He soon began his own business and flourished and his name spread worldwide.

Then, one day he went and saw the pot maker who had taught him.

"I cannot thank you enough,said Ram.

"You did it. Why thank me? I am just a pot maker till today!

"You didn't retire!!

"No I am  afraid.

"You are old and you should retire and live a happy life!

"Yes, but what can I do! I myself am  my mother, father,brother sister, grandparents etc. I lost all my people during a war.

Ram felt sorry for the pot maker. Immediatly,he spent his money and got a brand new house for the pot maker and a few maids and servants to be like his family. Then he brought the pot maker to his new home.

"Thank you so much!I cannot thank you enough!!

"You deserved it. Why thank me? After all this is what friends are for, right?

"Ha Ha Ha! Of course!

And the two lived happily ever after forever.

FAIRY LAND,THE REAL THING.

Emily was at the book store.The man there asked her what book she wanted.


"Oh, one with lots of adventures and comedies, please. I like that sort of book."


"Here you are then,young lady!"


"Fairyland,the real thing."


"Yes. Loved the book when I was little. You must read it . It is truly a wonderful book.


So , Emily bought the book for 25 cents and went home to show the book to her mother. Her mother was pleased.


"Now instead of wasting your time,you had better read this book.


Emily started to read this book . 4 days passed .By that time she had finished the book.


"Oh mom," she said. "I do wish something like this would happen in real life !  Now I shall have nothing to do again."


"You shall,said her mother." I will send you and Frisky to have a little picnic with your dolls,toys and Jessie too. I will make you a fine picnic lunch and you can go and have your picnic inside the hedge!"                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          "Oooooooooh! I will go and tell Jessie."


So that afternoon ,Emily,Frisky ,Jessie and Emily's dolls and toys went to the  hedge. She  spread out the mat and everybody sat. 


Jessie suddenly said  " Check that out!


Everybody turned to the  place she was pointing to and they all saw a gleaming light. It was like coming from a hole.


"I think that leads to Fairyland 'said Emily. " It said so in the book I read. So Jessie , you,Frisky and I had better go and follow that light. The dolls and toys can remain here.


" That is good idea ."


So they went to follow the light and jumped into the hole. 


"Thank the gods! Solid ground!


" It was  about sixty metres high!

"Lets not waste time we need to go."


It was a bit dark. But as they went deeper into the hole,the more the light they saw.


Then they saw something like a city." Fairyland",exclaimed Emily


She took out her pocketbook and started writing .


" Hey ,what are you doing?


" I must write a story on this. It could be an adventure!


" Even though we are just halfway through it?


" Come on Jessie!


As they entered the city  they saw a gatekeeper fairy.


"Halt! Why have you humans come here?Don't you know that strangers are restricted from Fairyland? Get out at once!!"


"No!",cried Emily."We are so sorry to have entered this land. We were having a picnic and suddenly there was a light and..................


"Do go on.",exclaimed the gatekeeper fairy.


"And there was a hole and we went to it thinking somebody  must be there but the hole was sixty metres high and we were so relieved  when we got to the ground and then you caught us.",said Emily.


The gatekeeper fairy then suddenly gave a sweet smile.He said" Only humans who are very bad to the fairies here are restricted from fairyland. But you are not that sort.You are very nice.You can roam Fairyland if you like. I will open the gates now."


Emily and Jessie were very happy and gladly thanked the gatekeeper fairy. They went to the gates. They saw Fairyland! Fairyland ,the real thing!


Emily suddenly erased the title of her story and replaced with a new one.Jessie peeked over her shoulder.


"What is the new title?",she asked.


"The title of my book."Emily said.


They were happily playing in Fairyland with the other fairies after that. Then suddenly the queen of Fairyland came to the city. Everybody bowed,even the two children and Frisky.


The queen said" I have lost my gold earrings .Please find them for me if you can."


After that the queen left.


The whole city was lost in thought.


Emily and Jessie were lost in thought too and decided to help the other fairies. They all met at a fairy's house.After thinking for a long time Jessie gave up.Emily still tried.


Then Emily got it! She said" I have got it! I do not know if it will be there,but do listen!The queen's gold earrings have been lost. Then the earrings must be shining and sparkling.Who has an attraction towards that sort of things?Crows do! The earrings must be in a crow's nest."


The fairies cheered and clapped for Emily so much that she blushed and hid her face.


The fairies set to work and looked at all the crows' nest. Then , after a long search, the earrings were found! They were given back to the queen and she was very happy.


The queen said" How kind you have been to Fairyland and everyone seems to like you. So I declare that from today these two children can enter Fairyland whenever they want."


"Yayyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!"shouted the fairies.


When the children got back home,their parents hugged them and asked where they had been.They told them of their most splendid adventure.


They all went to bed.

My Adventure under Sea

I was at the beach. We were happily playing, making sandcastles. Suddenly, a big wave swept me underwater. I tried to hold my breath but failed. Then I realized that I could breathe! I became very happy and started swimming upwards. I tried to get back to the shore but I couldn’t. It was some sort of door that didn’t allow me to go up. I started to cry.

Then I heard somebody shouting” Can’t anybody get some sleep around here? All I can here is somebody crying outside my door .Hmph!”  Then he slammed the door.

I went to the door and said” Please can you open the door? It is very cold out here.”The door flew open again and out came a water pixie! I had never seen one so I stared at him for a second, quite forgetting my manners. He glared at me and said” Well! I have never seen such a rude girl!”

“Oh no!’’, I wailed. I have never seen a water pixie and I have wanted to. So that is why I stared at you. I am really not a rude girl. By the way what’s your name?

‘’Flounder”, answered the pixie.

“Your house is a water toadstool”, I said, looking up.

Flounder said” Yes, it is a very useful one. All the other houses were taken by the other pixies and only this one was left. So I took it. It is wonderful in these cold days.”

“Please can I stay with you? I will never get back home and I want some shelter for a few days.”

“Of course.”

I lived happily with Flounder for a few days then he turned me out. I started to wail and begged for some more days. Flounder asked,”But don’t you have a home?

Still wailing ,I told him my story, how I had come to the sea.

Flounder listened and said” Hmmm! I think I know why you can’t go back.”

“Why?’’,I asked him wiping my tears.

“Come in and I will tell you.”

I went in and Flounder began his story……..

“Some time ago, there was a witch in this sea. Now the witch was a lazybones   and badly wanted a servant .But none of the pixies or fishes would agree,  because  the witch was very hard on people. So the witch thought humans would be better than pixies or fishes. So she put a magic door that would allow any human to get in, but that human could not get out! This became a problem for divers and none of them were spotted under the sea. Then suddenly the witch died of a sudden illness. But her magical door didn’t lose its power. So I think we should go to the witch’s home, and break the spell. Then the magical door will lose its power and you can go back home!

“Oooooh  ! But are you sure?”

‘’Yes . I have a map so that we cannot possibly lose our way.”

Flounder took a back pack and put the things he needed inside it. He then said” Look, we go east from this side and then west. If we follow the directions,we won’t lose our way.”

So we followed the directions and then Flounder groaned.

“What’s wrong?”

“Look, this way is blocked! It is only for sea cars. We cannot go by this way. We will not reach the witch’s house.”

I started to think hard. Then I gave a squeal and said” You can rent a sea car Flounder, you can rent one!”

“That is a wonderful idea! The renting area is just near. We will go there.

We rented a nice sea car, with beautiful red and yellow spots . We got into it and rode  away to the west according to the directions. We rode to many places, till we reached the witch’s home.

We got in and  I was so fascinated by the different spells,potions etc and . I stopped to look at them and Flounder said ‘ Do not waste time.’’

We looked everywhere  but we could not find the special potion. At last I got it and we tried to break the spells but monsters came from every side and I said

“Flounder! They are squeezing me!

“ Try to manage!

“They are breaking my bones ! Ooooooh!

Then I suddenly woke up , realizing it was all a dream.

Emily and the little girl

One day ,Emily was invited to a garden party. Her mother said that she could go. Emily dressed in a frilly frock and dressed Frisky in a good suit too.

So, after having a wonderful time at the garden party , Emily waved goodbye to her friends and set off.

She went through the woods.It was a bit scary as it was night.But Emily had a torch and she was a brave girl.

Then she heard yells.The yells became louder.Emily decided to investigate.She followed the yells and saw a man beating a poor girl mercilessly.Frisky got got frightened. Emily comforted Frisky and moved closer. When the man went, she walked over to the girl ,who was now crying bitterly.

''What is your name?'',she asked the girl.

''Jessie'',said the girl,still crying.

Emily gave Jessie a hanky and told her to stop crying.

''Now tell me your story'',she said.

''Promise not to tell the police?''

''If it is the necessity I will''.

''My mother is dead,so I live with my father.My father has a friend called Mr. Tizer.He asked him  to live with us when my mother died.Ever since he came,it has been a total disaster.

''Why?''


''See,my father goes for work. Mr.  Tizer is a lazybones and is very fat. The sofa in our house broke because of him. He put the blame on me.I got a scolding.Today I set the table for supper. Mr Tizer sat on his chair and it broke. He got very angry and pulled me out by dragging my ear. He told me that I had loosened the nails,or this would have never happened. So he started beating me.''

Emily was touched by her story.She took Jessie home.Her mother bathed her and gave her one spare dress.She then gave her a bed to sleep on.

The next day, Jessie woke up and had a bath. She then was introduced to Emily's friends and had a fun day playing with them.

Three months passed like this.They were months of perfect happiness for Jessie.

But soon Mr Tizer found out where she was. Jessie became scared  and said she could no longer live with Emily any more. Emily becae wild at  the idea and took a backpack ,Frisky's tiny backpack ,Frisky and told Jessie that she was coming with her,no matter where she went. Jessie was very thankful and the two of them went to the woods. They rested under a shady tree for the night and some noise woke them up.

It was Mr Tizer and Jessie's father!

''What are they doing here?''

''They are drug dealing". , said Jessie solemnly.

''What!!!!!"

''Yes, they are drug dealing.''

Suddenly Mr Tizer looked back and Jesiie shouted ''Run!''! and the 2 of them ran for their life but Mr Tizer saw them but Emily knocked down Mr Tizer and Jessie knocked down her father.Just then Emily's parents came and took Emily and Jessie home and Emily's father took the drug dealers to the prison.

Jessie stayed with Emily and that was the end.

EMILY AND THE SQUIRREL

"Mom!",shouted Emily from the living room."

"What is it, dear? I was just baking some cakes and your father...

"I do not care! I have to tell you something. My friend is giving a party in the woods tomorrow and I want to go!Can I go? Pleeeeease!!!

"But darling,There are wild animals in the woods and you may.........

"No!I promise to stick as close as possible to my friend's family.I promise not to lose my temper.Pleeeeeease!

"Okay,but.......

"Thanks ,Mom!You are the best!

So the next day Emily went to her friend's house and they set off for the woods together. After lunch they were all given some time to explore the woods.But Emily wandered off and then looked all around for her friend but she coud not see her. She began to get frightened.

Then a squirrel popped out of his hole.Emily saw on the tree trunk it was written FRISKY.

Frisky guided Emily back home.Emily was very thankful and had grown to love Frisky.So she kept Frisky as a pet.

Frisky began to love his new home much better than his hole!He loved Emily too,who never forgot once to feed him or to take him for a walk.

One day, Emily went over to Frisky's cage with his breakfast,he was not in!Emily was shocked.Then she saw she had forgotten to lock the cage.Frisky could have easily escaped.

So that night she set off to look for Frisky,leaving a note on the dining table.

When she was out of the doors,she remembered where she first saw Frisky. The woods! That was were she needed to go.

"But why would he leave?",Emily went with her mind full of doubts.

When she reached Frisky's tree trunk,she looked in the hole.He was not there!Emily was shocked.If he had really left ,where else would he go?

Emily walked till she came to a pond. She sat on the bank and sighed and fell asleep.

Then there was a big storm. Emily was very frightened.Then..........

She heard some body making squirrel noises!It was Frisky!

In the middle of the night, a rat had got to Frisky and had placed  him in this pond.

Frisky was very glad to see Emily and she tucked him in to her coat.They went home and she placed him in his cage.

Emily has never lost Frisky till now and her friends think she is very fortunate indeed!
